Development Process

Over 30 years of establishment and development, the Can Tho In-service Center had successfully completed the political tasks assigned by the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Committee of Can Tho Province (now the City Party Committee, the People's Committee of Can Tho City) in standardizing staff, improving people's knowledge, implementing educational socialization, significantly contributing to socio-economic development achievements of the Mekong Delta provinces in general and Can Tho City in particular.

On January 29, 2013, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 249/QD-TTg to establish Can Tho University of Technology on the basis of human resources and facilities of the Can Tho In-service Center. Can Tho University of Technology is directly under the admistration of the People's Committee of Can Tho, under the state educational management by the Ministry of Education and Training. The university has its own legal status, seal and account.

Decisions related to the development process:

- Decision No. 363/QD.UBT.81, dated November 30, 1981 of the People's Committee of Hau Giang Province on the establishment of the Hau Giang School of Economics and Technology.

- Decision No. 82/QD.UBT.87 , April 14, 1987 of the Hau Giang People's Committee on the renaming of the Hau Giang School of Economics and Technology to the Hau Giang In-service Center.

- Decision No. 02/QD.UBT.88, dated January 6, 1988 of the People's Committee of Hau Giang province on renaming the Hau Giang In-service Center to the Hau Giang In-service University Center.

- Since 1992, Hau Giang province was divided into two provinces of Can Tho and Soc Trang, Hau Giang In-service University Center named Can Tho In-service University Center.

- Decision No. 1674/QD-UBND, dated June 3, 2009 of the People's Committee of Can Tho city on the establishment of the for Can Tho In-service University Center of under the administration of the People's Committee of Can Tho city.
