Mandates

Can Tho University of Technology performs the following functions and tasks:

- Develop strategies and plan for school development in accordance with socio-economic development orientations in Can Tho city and other provinces in the Mekong Delta.

- Train undergraduate programs in technical and engineering majors according to the socio-economic development needs of Can Tho city and the Mekong Delta provinces.

- Research, apply and transfer technology for socio-economic development of Can Tho city and Mekong Delta provinces.

 - Cooperate with domestic and foreign economic, educational, cultural, physical training, sports, health and scientific research organizations.

- Develop training programs according to defined goals; ensure the smooth connection between training programs and levels.

- Organize committee; recruiting, managing, building and fostering a contingent of lecturers, managers, public employees, and employees of the university with sufficient quality and quantity, balanced in terms of qualification structure, industry structure, age and gender structure.

- Recruit and manage learners; ensure the lawful rights and interests of lecturers, officials, employees, administrators and learners; set aside funds for the implementation of social policies for beneficiaries of social policies, for those living in ethnic minority areas, areas with extremely difficult socio-economic conditions; ensure a pedagogical environment for educational activities.

- Self-assess training quality and subject to educational quality accreditation.

- Manage and use land, facilities, equipment and finance in accordance with law. Mobilizing, manage and use resources; build and strengthen facilities, invest in equipment.

- Implement the information and reporting regime and submit to the inspection and examination of the Ministry of Education and Training, relevant ministries and branches and the People's Committee of Can Tho city.

- Perform other duties and powers as prescribed by Vietnamese law.
