In order to strengthen the cooperation relationship in science and technology activities, on October 23, 2020, the Institute of Policy and Management, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) , Rosa Luxemburg Foundation and Can Tho University of Technology and Technology cooperated to host an international conference with topic: “ Environmental security in Vietnam: From theory to policy and action” in Can Tho City.
Attending the Conference, the board of organization honored to welcome more than 70 representatives who are leaders, experts, scientists, and graduate students from leading universities, institutions and colleges in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho city, Political Academy Region IV, Can Tho City Police, Military Command of Ho Chi Minh, City Can Tho City departments and agencies have attended.

Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa - Vice President of University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU - said: “This is the next seminar after 03 seminars on the topic of socio-economic transformation held: in Can Tho (October 2018), Phu Yen (May 2019) and Hai Phong (October 2019). The conference attracted participation of many Vietnamese experts, researchers, and policy experts. The conference is within the framework of a cooperation project between the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation and the Institute of Policy and Management in 2020 with the topic "From sustainable development to economic, ecological and social transformation: Policy implications for Vietnam”.

Countries often focus on GDP growth. However, GDP does not refer to environmentally sustainable development; economic development activities make the environment concerns becoming more serious. He hoped that the Conference would have open discussions to contribute to socio-economic development with the goal of sustainable development.
