CLOSING CEREMONY OF OFFICIAL SURVEY SERVING EXTERNAL ASSESSMENT OF FOOD TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM

         On December 13th, 2020, Can Tho University of Technology solemnly held the Closing Ceremony of the official survey to serve the external assessment of Food Technology Training Program. The survey was carried out by the Center for Education Accreditation – The University of Danang from December 10th, 2020 to December 13th, 2020.

Attending the Closing Ceremony of the Official Survey for evaluation of Food Technology Training Program, there were Assoc.Pro. Dr. Nguyen Quang Giao, Deputy Director in charge of Education Accreditation Center - University of Danang; External assessment team members: Dr. Duong Mong Ha - Head of the delegation, MSc Nguyen Lan Phuong - Secretary, MSc. Tham Thi Thu My - Permanent member, MSc. Nguyen Thi Nga - Member, Dr. Le Thi Minh Xuan – Member, MSc. Huynh Ngoc Thanh – Supervisors and observers from other universities.   

Speaking at the Closing Ceremony, Assoc. Pro. Dr. Nguyen Quang Giao recognized the great efforts of the Self-Assessment Council members and CTUT’s staff in completing Self-Assessment report in food technology discipline according to the guidance in Circular 04/2016/TT-BGDDT dated March 14, 2016 of the Minister of Education and Training in promulgating regulations on quality assessment standards for training programs in higher education institutions;  close coordination between the University and the Center to ensure plans and requirements for external assessment in the context of complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic.

    Dr. Duong Mong Ha - Team leader and MSc. Tham Thi Thu My - Standing Member - on behalf of the survey delegation presented a preliminary report on the officially surveyed results for external assessment, giving comments and objective assessment of strengths in each specific field of the university to continue promoting in the future, and at the same time, pointed out specific points for improvement in each standard and each evaluation item, interviews was implemented with different target groups, including school leaders, administrative managers, professional managers, lecturers, supporting staff, current students at all levels, alumni and employers.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Assoc. Pro. Dr. Huynh Thanh Nha, Rector of the University, Chairman of the Self-Assessment Council of Food Technology Training Program, expressed his deep gratitude to the External Evaluation Delegation as well as to the observers having seriously working time and giving objective comments helps the University to find out strengths and limitations, thereby identifying the strengths and weaknesses, proposing solutions to improve the quality of training in Food Technology for contributing to the University's development and affirming its prestige and brand in the national education system.

At the Closing Ceremony, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding to recognize the results of the external assessment for Food Technology Training Program of Can Tho University of Technology.
